By the time I came across to know this cell phone I though that the Nokia Vertu and Nokia Goldvish were the most expensive mobiles phones in the world, but this one makes me think that I am wrong, it worths 1.3 million US Dollar. 1.3 million dollar for this phone is just because of the look of the phone. This most expensive phone has been made by a Russian, and have been embedded with several diamonds on its left and right border. There are diamonds even on the keypad of the phone. Total diamonds embedded are 50. Each one is a blue diamond of 0.5 - 2 carat. The phone is completely made from platinum with logo and buttons made out of gold. Scientists -- what would we do without them? -- reckon that predictive texting teaches children to act first and think later. New research suggests that increased use of mobile phones such as the Nokia 5530 is making kids more impulsive and less thoughtful.

Researchers at Monash University, Melbourne tested a selection of kids aged between 11 and 14, with a quarter of the group making more than 15 calls a week and a quarter sending more than 20 texts a week. Only 20? Strictly amateur. The kids then took IQ-related tests.

Those teens with busier thumbs completed the tests more quickly, but less accurately. Professor Michael Abramson suspects predictive texting is to blame, suggesting that repeated use of this quick-fix technology is making the yoot more impulsive: "If you're used to operating in that environment and entering a couple of letters and getting the word you want, you expect everything to be like that."

While we probably wouldn't have needed an academic research budget (although we wouldn't say no) to point out that teenagers are impulsive and often act without thinking of consequences, we can't help but resist this kind of kids-are-getting-thicker-A-levels-are-getting-easier-it-were-all-fields-round-here-when-I-were-a-lad media coverage. Texting may be changing the way kids develop, but we grew up with pocket calculators and spellcheck and that never harmed our impulse control and our spelling is just fne thankz.

The research appears in a paper entitled 'Mobile telephone use is associated with changes in cognitive function in young adolescents' in science journal Bioelectromagnetics. We warn you, it's slightly longer than 160 characters.

Nokia's XpressMusic 5530 Review:

Nokia has announced that its XpressMusic 5530 handset will be arriving in the UK on 11 August. Billing it as a rival to LG's "Cookie" handset, Nokia's new phone is a low-end touchscreen aimed at teenagers.

It's going to cost £130, or it'll be free on a £15 per month contract. Which networks will be carrying It hasn't been announced yet, but we'd guess it'll be showing up as widely as possible. It'll be available in black/red and blue/white colour combos and Nokia says the phone offers "superb value for money".

As previously reported, it's a 2G handset, but it does pack Wi-Fi alongside its 2.9-inch resistive touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera and 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs at the same resolution as the N97, but the screen is smaller, so expect crisp images compared to Nokia's flagship handset.

Software giant Microsoft is working with phone manufacturer Nokia to install a version of its Office suite of applications on mobile phone handsets.

The pair will begin working together immediately to design, develop and sell the applications, which be marketed under the 'Microsoft Office Mobile' brand

The new partnership is the latest salvo in the already hectic war for the corporate mobile phone market.

From Microsoft's perspective, the aim of the deal is to give some leverage against Google and others who are providing free web-based applications on a number of different mobile handsets.

For Nokia, it marks a fight-back against the likes of Apple and Research in Motion whose iPhones and BlackBerrys are particularly popular among the business market.

The pair will begin working together immediately to design, develop and sell the applications, which be marketed under the "Microsoft Office Mobile" brand.

The suite of applications will first be launched on Nokia's range of Eseries phones, which are aimed at business users.

The two companies said that people will be able to read, create and edit Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote programmes via their Nokia phones, through its advanced Symbian operating system.

Nokia phones will also link to Microsoft's existing Unified Communications platform, which unites phones, email, instant messaging and online conferencing for corporate users.

The deal represents a fight-back by Microsoft against the likes of Google, whose range of similar, free internet and mobile applications has begun to dent part of the software providers most profitable business.

Next year, Microsoft is expected to launch a web-based version of the Office suite of products called Office Web Apps as part of its fight-back, at the same time as it releases Office 2010.

Shares in Microsoft rose 2.4pc on the news.

Mysterious GeForce Go 7300 Debuts In Asus Laptop Review:

Two treats for the price of one here folks, we’ve got the latest laptop from style gurus Asus and titbits on a new mobile nVidia 7 series graphics card before its official launch.

Funnily enough, this happens more than companies would like to admit: one launches a product not realising it has unannounced peripherals inside. That said, nVidia doesn’t seem to be on the warpath so something must have been agreed beforehand. Let’s start with the laptop and work our way down.

As always, it’s a bit of a looker – dubbed the A6Vm – it has a 15.4in WXGA screen yet weights only 2.8Kg. This can be backed up with an AMD Turion 64 or Pentium M 700 sequence processor, a maximum of 2GB of DDR2 533MHz RAM and a 100GB HDD. A swanky extra is the integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, with more standard stuff like Bluetooth, wireless g, and SPDIF output making up the numbers.

Standing out a mile, however, is the installed nVidia GeForce Go 7300 graphics card, a previously unknown mobile option from the 3D specialist. Little is revealed about this mysterious offspring but Asus does let slip that it comes in either 128 or 256MB configurations, is DirectX 9.0 and Shader Model 3.0 compatible and uses nVidia’s PureVideo technology for smoother playback. Performance is ambiguously described as “increased by 41 per cent over previous graphic solutions” but compared to what exactly? I very much doubt it is going to outrun a Go 7800GTX.

In addition, the fact that it uses TurboCache suggests it will be more of a midrange offering but we’ll have to grab one by the throat and benchmark it within an inch of its life to know for sure. No pricing or release dates have been made available yet, but we’re curious to say the least…

Samsung S5230 Star review: Hot starlet Review:

Samsung are going to great lengths to pile pressure on the LG Cookie. While the Samsung S5600 Preston aims to outdo it, the 5230 Star is set for a head-on collision course. This starlet's middle name is Tocco Lite and that's plenty to live up to.

The name itself is no shortcut to stardom but the Tocco pedigree certainly brings with it certain expectations of quality. So will this little Star still be going strong a year from launch? The S5230 certainly has all the ingredients, now all we need to do is see if Samsung has got the mix right.

Add a dash of touchscreen and nifty unlock, a pinch of smart looks and document viewer, DNSe and smile shutter to taste. Samsung's widget-wielding TouchWiz makes reading the recipe a cinch.

It's a dish that's already proving popular - the Star is already shifting over a million units per month and Samsung expect to total 10 million sold by the end of the year. Certainly an ambitious plan, but they just might pull it off - the Star is set to become one of Samsung's bestsellers.

The camera (8.0 MP, 3 fps with up to 14 image burst, E-TTL II flash system, DIGIC II, 7-point AF, Separate RAW/JPEG image recording, USB 2.0, Compatible with EF/EF-S lenses/EX Speedlite flashes) comes with its original 18-55mm lens, the original battery (very good performance) and its original charger, which are also in very good condition.

I give away a mini Tripod (see picture attached), and a 1GB compact flash card for price.

The USB lead is not the original but it's a Sony lead and works perfectly well.

The good: The Sony X-Series Walkman is a solid device with a sleek, utilitarian design and a unique, engaging interface; it's compatible with both Mac and Windows and supports podcasts from iTunes and videos from Amazon Unbox; it offers a plethora of features including an onboard Slacker app, integrated YouTube support, Wi-Fi, an FM tuner, and built-in noise canceling. The included earphones are nicer than average, the sound quality is excellent, and the rated battery life is superb.

The bad: The X-Series is expensive, and it's a fingerprint magnet. The included app does not transcode much video adequately.

The concept that caught my attention today is the Nokia N99 which is equipped with a HTC-like side sliding full QWERTY keyboard and seems to be a close relative of Nokia’s N800 Internet Table.

Of course, the guy that did all the work took care of it and pimped it up with a flower-power style 9-way joystick which, combined with the sleek looks of the N800 and the overall white pearl color of the device, kind of gives me the sensation that the individual which designed it carries an iPod in his pocket all day long and has its ears carefully covered with the iPod’s earphones.

The one that put it all together also sent in a virtual spec sheet to make all the Nokia fans drool on their monitors while reading it, a spec sheet saying that this device should have a 16 GB Flash internal memory, a miniSD memory expansion card slot that can go up to 4 GB (who’s needing miniSD when you have 16 GB of built-in memory? ), a 3.2 inch real 16:9 wide screen (not like the iPhone), a multimedia player with MP3, DivX, XviD, MPEG and AVI files, GPS capability, Wi-Fi wireless connectivity and a 8 megapixel digital camera capable of recording videos at 30 frames per second.

Summing it up, this is pretty much the dream of everyone that ever used a mobile device and I advise you not to try calculating what the N99 would cost because the number will be quite astronomical.

Samsung this week announced the Samsung HZ10W (also known as the Samsung WB500 in some parts of the world).

The Samsung HZ10W is a 10.2 megapixel point and shoot digital camera that features a 2.7 inch LCD screen and generous 10x optical zoom (giving it an equivalent focal range of 24-240mm. This focal range means it’s plenty wide enough for landscapes but has great reach for getting in close in portraits or even when shooting action from a distance.

Introduction

The Apple iPhone 3GS is probably not the next revolutionary iPhone as you might have expected it. But the performance boost, the sharper camera with video and the purportedly improved battery life certainly make of the current iPhone (3GS or whatever it is called this year) a much more balanced smartphone, one that you could probably wave in front your geeky friends more proudly. Well, you'd still get the chilling disapproving look, but at least you won't feel as embarrassed as you used to.

A cool looking touchscreen carrying a new mobile OS was enough to get the attention of even the most hardened of them techies last time we checked. Fair enough, the HTC Magic isn't groundbreaking but the Cupcake-ful of changes it brings, promise a whole new experience.

Well, for starters the Android sure looks more human. The formidable and weapon-like G1/ HTC Dream needed every ounce of weight to stand its ground. With an honestly lighthearted and disarming approach, the HTC Magic is willing to play by the conventional touchscreen rules. And may as well be eyeing massive sales. Compact dimensions and distinct styling, decent all round functionality and system expandability, the HTC Magic seems to have what it takes to keep both smart and feature phone touchscreens on edge. The second edition of the OS should have dealt with the issues of the forerunner and given the Magic that extra bit of pace. So, what do you call a good platform getting better and a gadget looking more mainstream but still creative enough? We call it good sense but who knows, it may be Magic.

Sony Ericsson Satio (a.k.a. Idou) is perched at the top of the touchscreen food chain with an ominous grin. Currently rivaled only by the Samsung Omnia HD and in a way by the non-smart Samsung Pixon12, the 12 megapixel predator readily bares its teeth of incredible multimedia, powerful processing and of course perfect connectivity. There isn't much more to look for in a smartphone except how its potential translates to real-life performance.

LG GC900 Viewty Smart 360-degree spin

The sharp and compact LG GC900 Viewty Smart looks quite attractive with an almost all black front and a silvery faux-brushed-metal rear. Unlike the LG KM900 Arena, the back cover of the GC900 is all plastic.

A version with an all-silver casing is also available and judging solely by the press images it looks as neat as the black one.

It turns out the Viewty Smart hasn't changed much since our last encounter with a pre-market sample.

Design and construction

The Viewty Smart measures 108.9 x 56.1 x 12.4 mm, which is just about a millimeter bigger than the LG Arena in each direction. The LG GC900 Viewty Smart has a higher-res camera of course, but skips the 3.5mm standard audio jack and FM transmitter. However, a 3.5mm adapter is available in the retail package. The rest of the stuff to find in the box includes a data cable, wall charger, software CD and a user guide.

The GC900 Viewty Smart is a bit smaller than the Apple iPhone 3GS and the slanting top and bottom give it a keener stance.

XpressMusic is not the Nokia 5630’s only virtue. The subdued exterior reveals little of the talent that lays beneath. Along with the music perks go Wi-Fi, a 3-megapixel snapper, N-Gage support, and S60 FP2 to open the door to a whole world of extra apps.Of course, it’s not without its flaws but think again before casting the first stone. The 5630 XpressMusic is slim enough – both in girth and price – to dodge its critics.

Apple iPhone 3GS review

Using last year's design but boasting some extra powerful hardware, the iPhone 3GS is supposed to, and indeed is, running up to 2 times better than what Apple have offered us so far. This speed boost doesn't bring substantial new capabilities to the table. Instead it's more like the hardware catching up with what we can still call one of the most advanced and user-friendly touch user interfaces to-date (in the realm of GSM mobile phones, of course).
While the iPhone 3GS and the 3G are most obviously cut from the same cloth, you'd be glad to know that there are some differentiating factors that can perhaps be worth your cash:

Introduction
It's only been a day since we went through the review of Nokia N86 8MP - the first cameraphone with a 28mm wide-angle lens. And we already have the Samsung Pixon12 on our hands - the first 12 megapixel cameraphone to ever hit the market and not only that, but also the first 12 megapixel cameraphone with the same luring 28mm wide-angle lens as on the Nokia N86 8MP.
If you've gone through the Nokia N86 8MP review comments like we did, you've probably noticed there are a lot of people out there that consider us... well, biased. We wish we had a dime every time some of you accused us of that.
Lately it seems you find us a bit too harsh on Nokia. The truth however is that we aren't, it's just that once top-of-the-line, Nokia products now come with less and less pioneering spirit.
On the other hand you are more than welcome aboard to see how Samsung have been treating us, regular users, and what they have to offer with the Samsung M8910 Pixon12. And bear in mind that they even have a rumored Samsung M8920 in the works - a 12 megapixel cameraphone with 3x optical zoom. How about that, Nokia? But we digress.
Today's show is all about Samsung M8910 Pixon12. We will most probably have a more detailed preview of the device ready for publishing some time tomorrow, but that stuff is too hot to keep it all to ourselves. So we went out of the box with this one, and we'll be publishing only camera samples today. We're just dying to find out what you make of our impromptu shootout with some quite unusual peers.

The images produced by the Pixon12 managed to impress us and you'll understand us as we were eager to share those with you (let's hope for some better weather tomorrow).
